What we keep, and why
Reading the news needs no account. Two cookies may be set: pt_lang for English or Tamil, and pt_session to keep you signed in. No ads, no third-party trackers; fonts come from Google Fonts.
An API account keeps your email, name and organisation, a salted hash of your password, your sessions, your keys as hashes, daily request counts per endpoint, and your webhook endpoints with a delivery log. Delete the account from Settings and all of it goes.
From X we read public posts to count how people see an issue. Their text is never republished: posts are paraphrased, ordinary users appear only as counts and paraphrases with no name or link, and only public figures are named, with a link to their post. Unlinked timeline posts are deleted after 30 days.
Limits. To keep the service free and fair, requests are counted per address (pages, searches, sign-in) for a minute at a time, and per API key per day. Addresses are not stored for this.
